Hey, I'm Nurin

If there's one saying I'm a huge fan of it's - a picture is worth a thousand words. I've always been fascinated by photos and stories they tell, and the power they have to bring you back so vividly to a memory. Growing up I spent countless afternoons in my family basement looking through old photo albums with my parents and hearing the stories behind each photo. Soon enough, this obsession turned into my own personal hobby, photographing every moment and experience to create my own life albums. I became known within my friends as their very own documentarian, capturing all our experiences and celebrations through my lens. And just like everything else in life, you end up falling into something you can't imagine your life without and Taken By Nurin was born!

Photography to me is about more than just images—it’s about connection. I truly enjoy meeting new people, learning their stories, and sharing those stories through my lens. It’s the fleeting, often overlooked moments that I’m drawn to—the ones that hold so much meaning. Every shot I take is an opportunity to freeze time and celebrate the moments that make life so special.
One of my favourite memories of 2020 is second hand shopping for vintage film cameras with my dad - we both had a passion for things old and gold.
